Tutorial: Working with Multiple Stocks: Recreate Tasks From Previous Tutorials

Recreate Tasks From Previous Tutorials

The steps from the first tutorial can easily be recreated by applying trading solutions.

Step-by-step Instructions

1.    If your portfolio does not contain the data series “MBNA CP” and “S&P 500 Index”, import “KRB.txt” and “SPX.txt” from the “Sample Data” directory.

The first tutorial task covered importing data. If you need help doing this, you may want to return to the first tutorial.

2.    Apply the following trading solutions to the “MBNA Cp” data series.

·      “First Predictions 2 - Model Optimal Signal”

·      “Improving Predictions 1 - Financial Indicator”

·      “Improving Predictions 2 - External Data”

·      “Improving Predictions 3 - Preprocess External Data”

To apply a trading solution, select Apply a Trading Solution… from the context menu for “MBNA Cp” in the Portfolio View. Then, press Next again to advance past the Introduction page if it is displayed. Select the “First Predictions 1 - Traditional Prediction” trading solution and press Next. Finally, press Finish to create the indicated fields.

Ä    Note: If the required trading solution is not listed, press the Import a Solution… button and import it from the “Sample Solutions” directory under the “TradingSolutions” directory. Once the trading solution has been imported, you can apply it as described above.

Ä    Note: The external trading solutions will display an additional panel allowing you to indicate which external data to use. Press Next to accept the default of using the S&P 500 Index.

The data and fields created during the first tutorial have now been recreated.

Ä    Note: We’ll cover creating and using trading solutions in more detail in the next task.
